Construction of two multi-storey apartment houses which were erected on a strip of the former Berlin wall. The so-called ‘Blockrandbebauung’ (the front of a new building must be in line with its neighbouring blocks and have the same height and number of floors) had to be applied to theses buildings. In the basement, there is space for an underground car park as well as for individual cellar units for tenants and house-owners. The ground floor is reserved for the retail and service industries, while the other floors and the attic are used for housing. The attics below the tetrahedron roofs of the corner towers were converted into studio apartments. The brick and plaster facings of the front are continued on the courtyard side and embrace the green and rambling inner yards.
