| | | Realization and detailed project-planning | | New construction of a neighbourhood service centre, built from precast
reinforced concrete units, located in a modernized
area of industrialized domestic housing (namely
large panel constructions). There are parking lots
in the basement, retail space along the shopping
arcade on the ground floor, and
medical services and leisure amenities on the first floor. The second floor allows for office space and encircles the inner courtyard. An eye-catching element of the building is the small advertising tower, which is - analogical to the main front - entirely covered by aluminium sheets. Extensive glass fronts, light as well as strong colours take away all the bulkiness of the building. Especially the mixture of the different purpose zones required a considerable amount of planning and a great effort in realization, as medical services and leisure facilities (e.g. bowling alleys) had to be projected side by side, without interfering with one another. | | | | | |
