Realization and detailed project-planning
The idea was to extend the central exhibition area at the ICC (International Congress Centre) with an additional exhibition hall as well as with linking blocks and buildings for technical equipment. The column-free exhibition hall was designed with an outer skin made of sheet-steel coffers that are attached to reinforced concrete crossbeams, and a metal roof vaults the broad steel framework. Service and technical zones are accommodated in massive constructions. Originally, this exhibition hall was to serve as a provisional building, only being an immediate measure. However, it is still used for exhibitions to this day.
