Construction of Exhibition Hall 26 for AMK Berlin -Charlottenburg Messedamm 22 Client: Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft und Technologie (Local Authorities for Economics and Technologies) Design: Gruppe 80 1992 Floor space 15,271 sq m Cubic volume 135,738 cb m Realization and detailed project-planning The idea was to extend the central exhibition area at the ICC (International Congress Centre) with an additional exhibition hall as well as with linking blocks and buildings for technical equipment. The column-free exhibition hall was designed with an outer skin made of sheet-steel coffers that are attached to reinforced concrete crossbeams, and a metal roof vaults the broad steel framework. Service and technical zones are accommodated in massive constructions. Originally, this exhibition hall was to serve as a provisional building, only being an immediate measure. However, it is still used for exhibitions to this day.
